Dr. Ong obtained his Doctor of Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto and subsequently completed specialty training in Neurology and Sleep Medicine at the University of Toronto. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Sleep Medicine and a Fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Dr. Ong has been a consultant sleep specialist at MedSleep/Toronto Sleep Institute Eglinton and Thornhill since our founding in 2004. He is also a consultant sleep specialist at the Sleep & Alertness Clinic and the York Region Sleep Disorders Centre. He served as the Medical Director of the Sleep & Alertness Clinic, Toronto Western Hospital, University Health Network (2006-2016) and is on the advisory board of the York Region Sleep Disorders Centre (2002-present). Dr. Ong is active clinically managing a wide spectrum of sleep disorders. His areas of interest include nocturnal seizures, parasomnia, restless legs syndrome, narcolepsy, sleep apnea and its effects on the brain.

    Dr. Ong is a very patient doctor. He listens to everything you have to say and proceeds with tests based on your observations. Being a parasomniac, I bring someone who has witnessed by night time behaviours because I can't remember what I did.
