Southlake's Regional Cardiac Care Program is the third largest in Ontario with more than 100,000 lives being transformed through the work of the program in the 10 years since it opened. From Ian Phythian, our first bypass patient, to Ed Gray, who received a stent, to Justine Bovenkirk, a young women who needed a cardioverter defibrulator that could go into an MRI, we constantly strive to improve the quality of our patients' lives. Focused on envisioning today what the heart needs tomorrow, our cardiac team have often been the first in the province, country, and even the world, to use new devices and treatments, and have led research studies that have been published in the world's leading research journals, including The New England Journal of Medicine.
