What is Polypharmacy?
Duration: 1 minute, 1 second

Polypharmacy refers to the use of multiple medications in an individual. In plain language, somebody may be taking five to ten different prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, or supplements.

The concern is that there's a greater risk of interaction, the more medications, or supplements, or over-the-counter medications you take. To reduce this risk, it's always a very good idea to brown-bag your medications. By saying "brown-bag" what we mean is take all your prescriptions, or supplements, or over-the-counter medications with you to a doctor's office for your visit.

Just remember that treatment for your condition will vary with the individual and the condition they may have, so always consult your primary healthcare provider for more information.
