, The Stroke Recovery Process
Duration: 1 minute
In terms of stroke recovery a neuropsycologist could play a very important role in the person's ability to achieve goals and possibly achieve them at a greater rate than they would by what's typically referred to spontaneous recovery.
So neuropsychological intervention or cognitive rehabilitation could be introduced so a person is considered medically stable. And that early intervention can be an important component in a person's overall recovery.
Exactly how long that recovery takes depends entirely on the stroke itself and on the effects that that stroke has had.
A person recovering from a stroke who's interested in cognitive rehabilitation to address cognitive deficiency or change that's occurred as a result of the stroke would best benefit from contacting a neuropsychologist who specializes in cognitive rehabilitation and the application of neuropsychological assessment to treatment.
If you have questions on neuropsychological assessments and the stroke recovery process, contact a local neuropsychologist.
