Video Title: Treatment of Soft Tissue Injuries
Duration: 1 minute, 17 seconds
If you’re an athlete who has commonly tight muscles or areas of your body that commonly get injured all the time like chronic hamstring pulls, this may be caused by an imbalance in your muscles or malalignment of your joints.
With these predisposed conditions of your body, you’re more at risk for injury and these things are easily treatable and preventable if you know what to do properly. So physiotherapists have different techniques that can be used to assess muscle length, putting the body in different positions to check for side-to-side differences.
There are muscle – manual muscle tests that we can use to check for strengths and weaknesses of the body and also to compare asymmetry side-to-side. Body alignment is also very important, and there are different positions we can put the body in to check for joint mobility and asymmetries of joints as well.
People should contact their local physiotherapist to get a full body assessment to be able to prevent these types of soft tissue injuries from happening on the field.
