Video Title: The Treatment and Diagnosis of Sinusitis
Duration: 1 minute, 14 seconds
Sinusitis is an infection of the sinuses.
And the sinuses are hollow spaces in your face that are lined with mucus membranes. The most common symptom of sinusitis would be pressure or pain over the location of the sinuses as well as a post-nasal drip, headache and fever.
The treatment for sinusitis depends on which type of sinusitis it is. It could be viral, in that case the treatment is purely symptomatic, which consist of decongestants and nasal flushes; whereas if it's bacterial, the treatment consists of antibiotics.
Now, there could be other underlying factors that could play a role in the treatment of your sinusitis, factors like allergies, nasal polyps, as well as anatomical structural defects like a broken nose with a deviated septum. All of these things can play a role in the ultimate treatment of your sinusitis
Therefore it is advisable to consult with your healthcare provider to determine the exact treatment for your sinusitis.
