Screening vs Diagnostic Mammogram
Duration: 30 seconds
The difference between a screening mammogram and a digital mammogram is small but important.
A screening mammogram is done in a patient who as far as we know, has no breast cancer, she has no lumps, no bumps, no worries.
We're just checking to make sure that there's no small breast cancer lurking inside that we can't detect any other way. A diagnostic mammogram is a mammogram that is done on a patient who has some sort of a problem like a new lump.
