Gloves are designed to protect the hand, the wrist and the lower part of the forearm.

Originally gloves were made solidly of leather. Nowadays the gloves are made of either a combination of leather and nylon or usually mostly nylon.

Back in the old days they were very restrictive. Well, nowadays the majority of gloves are made solidly of nylon. Sometimes there’s a little bit of synthetic leather on the product.

You’re looking at the segments of the back of the glove. So they move more freely with the motion of the hand. You’ve got segments in the fingers so that you’re able to feel the stick and feel the puck a little bit better.

And one of the other nice things that the majority of newer gloves have is an anti-lock thumb to stop hyperextension of the thumb. And the inner liner is usually some form of moisture management, as well as antimicrobial and antibacterial.

And older gloves did not have that, that’s why they stink so bad when they’re in your hockey bag. Some manufacturers are coming up with newer innovations on gloves. And one that Easton has come up with is an adjustable cuff.

Where this is going to help today’s hockey player it will help reduce the possibility of stress fractures on the forearm. Good goal scorers have good hands and you want to protect your hands to make sure that you don’t suffer any injuries.

So in order to get a proper fitting glove see your local qualified retailer that carries hockey equipment.
