Sleep apnea predisposes people to a variety of medical conditions.

If you have sleep apnea, you're much more likely to have high blood pressure, diabetes, heart attacks and strokes, and an irregular heart beat. But the major thing that you're actually more prone to - you're much more likely to have car crashes. Patients with sleep apnea are three or four times more likley to have car crashes.
