Lasers have been proliferating over the last decade or so, and are being used in a number of different modalities in dermatology.

So, in dermatology we use lasers to reduce blood vessels in the skin, such as in rosacea. We will use lasers to reduce pigment spots on the skin, as we see as people get older, we will use lasers to reduce scarring from previous diseases such as acne, or traumatic scars.

More recently, lasers have been developed to rejuvenate the skin in a fractionated method. And these lasers can reverse a lot of the photo damage that occurs from excess sun exposure.
