I was admitted into Emergency and surgery done on 2nd day. A Resident informed me that screws would be inserted into fractured hip. That's it! Internet was not working at hospital, so could not access info nor ask questions. The best support was from Hosp Physio who gave me a walker to take home. Once home, Surgeon's office never returned calls about needing better pain meds at night to deal with pain keeping me awake for 5 nights! And am still waiting for his recommendation due to serious side-effects of one med which local MD's are not qualified to answer. Perhaps this surgeon is overloaded with cases and hospital is not providing proper back-up support for his patients?
