Dr. David Matheson completed a Masters degree in Mathematics and worked with Imperial Oil in Calgary in the Exploration Research Group developing statistical programs. After training in medicine followed by a specialty in paediatric immunology, Dr. Matheson had a clinical practice, a research laboratory and teaching responsibilities at University of Calgary and University of British Columbia. He continues to teach at UBC and is involved with education via the Western Regional Training Centre and the CHSRF sponsored EXTRA program. Dr. Matheson served as Vice President of Medicine at British Columbia's Children's Hospital (BCCH) before establishing his own consulting company, DMMD Consultants. He has overseen a number of medical consulting projects in Canada and overseas, including patient safety, medical administration, dispute resolution and health care service delivery for various organizations.
