A local  psychiatrist is a physician who specializes in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental disorders and addiction. Unlike psychologists, psychiatrists can prescribe medication in addition to providing therapy. Psychiatrists work in settings including private practice, hospitals, and institutions. In treating patients a psychiatrist can also educate them on antidepressants, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, adolescent psychiatry and post-traumatic stress disorder. Studies have found that children who have healthy diets are more likely to be happy. Children who are overweight have a higher risk of experiencing low self-esteem, depression and negative body image such as anorexia .

Research shows that physical activity promotes the release of powerful chemicals such as endorphins and serotonin, which improve mood and feelings of well-being and can be used to treat addiction . It can lower cortisol (also called the “stress hormone”) levels and support nerve cell growth in the hippocampus, a region of the brain that helps regulate mood.
