A pedorthist is a medical provider who has taken specialized training in the design, manufacturing, and modification of footwear to address conditions which affect the feet and lower limbs. Pedorthists perform a variety of services, including fitting athletes with custom orthotics for sports, providing diabetes with supportive footwear to prevent diabetic neuropathy, and modifying footwear for people who have had partial foot amputations.
Canadian Certified Pedorthists – C. Ped (C) – are foot orthotic and orthopaedic footwear experts. They are one of the few healthcare professionals trained in the assessment of lower limb anatomy and muscle and joint function
