A pediatrician is a physician who has taken additional training in the medical care of children from birth. A your local Pediatrician treats diseases and conditions that affect children, and some are also surgeons. In treating patients pediatricians may also educate them and their parents on ear infections, immunizations, genetic defects and testing, bone growth, constipation, diarrhea, cold and flu, juvenile diabetes, tonsilitis, appendicitis, chronic illness, pediatric heart disease and injuries in children.
