During hip or knee replacement surgery, the surgeon removes the painful joint and replaces it with an artificial joint made from plastic, ceramic and/or metal.

Treatment for shoulder arthritis may include non-surgical approaches such as pain management, physical therapy, and lifestyle modifications. In more severe cases, surgery, such as joint replacement or joint fusion, may be considered to alleviate pain and improve shoulder function. It's important for individuals with shoulder arthritis to consult with a healthcare professional for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment plan.

Hello. I waited and waited for surgeries to open up with Covid. Spent the last 3-4 months bedridden from the pain. Dr. Cayen was finally able to schedule my surgery. There are no words that can totally explain how wonderful I feel now post surgery. Walked out of the hospital the same day as my total right hip replacement. Pain free in 2 weeks-3 weeks. I was in such bad shape prior to surgery, didn’t think the surgery would go so perfectly. I thanked him for truly changing my life.

Disappointed. Heard and read wonderful reviews. Was excited to meet and discuss my pain. Former runner and currently very actIive. Living 3 years with left knee in pain now showing obvious deformity. Right knee now heading same direction. My visit was a mid Friday afternoon. Ended up being last or second last patient of day. When finally seen Cayan appeared unfocused and truly disinterested almost looked like he wondered why I was even there and asked me first "what is it i can do for you" THEN Rappeared to scan my report and glance twice at MRI offering no other advice except "small amount arthritis under both kneecaps." Didnt address any MRI details of cyst ganglions formed which are visually noticeable on left knee, or possible sprain and number of other concerning things described on film which in fairness to Cayman perhaps this was up to me...the patient?. All of 15 mins. Offered cortisone and gel injections for arthritis only. Left appointment no further ahead than I was 3 years ago. Also....family doctor asked I bring x-ray and MRI film plus reports to appointment. During the wait to see Cayan I was eventually called first to imaging for...x-rays?? I questioned them why when i had been advised make sure to bring those images taken 2 weeks prior and had them in hand......they seemed "perturbed" sent me back to wait and I DID WAIT....2-3 more hrs. I am not satisfied Dr. Cayan even cared.
